As a little girl, I always played with makeup, that cute Tinkerbell set. I have always been creative, very much a right brain thinker. Most of my playtime was spent in my mother’s hair salon. She allowed me to absolutely explore the creative side of me. I had one dream and that was to make woman beautiful. So I decided from a very young age to educate myself about colour, texture and skin types. After studying skincare, I worked in the most beautiful skincare clinics. I desired to understand more, teach more and a big dream came true when I started a wonderful position as skin lecturer at Isa Carstens Academy in Stellenbosch. I realized that my one and true passion would always be makeup. Over the years I gained the most valuable experience. Apart from teaching, I went for every makeup training I could possibly can by attending different schools in South Africa, receiving training through the most amazing courses in New York and learning from industry hero’s like Rae Morris.

I immediately realized the need to open an International School in South Africa. To teach beauty- and fashion makeup. But my dream was to change the makeup industry into a beautiful and proud industry, where you really need to work hard at your imperfections. I opened Alicia Buckle School of Makeup to send out my students all over South Africa to really make a difference in women’s lives. This is my PASSION. I love doing makeup, I love to travel all around the world and see the power of makeup, I love to see how happy and content women are when they look in the mirror and just realise how beautiful they are. I have performed makeup services for more than 700 brides on their special day. I have worked on different exciting jobs, for TV, magazines, catalogues or just a beautiful special occasion and had the privilege to travel all over the world for shoots and weddings.

Over a year ago I opened up another arm of my business where I perform one-on-one (1 on 1) workshops to women personally on pre-arranged bookings. Here I teach that the right makeup application really makes a huge difference. Finally, I have launched my own makeup brand with my 2 favourite lipsticks, that really go well with every woman’s complexion. It is called Natural Nude and Perfect Red.
